Rio Transit provides the general public with transportation to and from rural ares into the urban areas in the Counties of Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy for a minimal fee.

Elderly (60+), Disability, Medicare, Student, Veteran: $.50
Transfers and Children under 7 accompanied Adult: FREE.
Rio Transit Route 4:
All Fares (Adults, Elderly, Disability, Medicare, Students, and Veterans): $2.00.

Rio Transit Demand Response Fare Structure
Rio Transit Demand Response is open to the general public. It is a transportation system requires a day advance notice. Limited space is available at any time and occupancy is on a first-come-first serve basis. Rio Transit Express passengers can transfer in the rural areas to and from medical facilities, shopping centers and other business locations in any of the service area. The service that is provided is only for non-emergency transportation only.
Rio Transit Response is a curb to curb service in accordance to the following zone fare structure per one-way trip. The service hours available are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Additional stops within the destination zone will be $1.00 per stop on time availability. Children 0-6 years, accompanied by a paying adult, ride for free.
Demand-Response does not run on the following Holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
